Asociación de Banqueros de México Medal (1978)

This gold medal, from the commercial chapter, commemorates the Asociacion de Banqueros de Mexico in 1978. It is the body that groups the country's banking institutions, today known as the Asociacion de Bancos de Mexico.

The association has been the guild voice of the banking sector, representing its interests before the government and coordinating common initiatives. In the 1970s, Mexican banking was in a period of expansion before the bank nationalization that would come in 1982.
